Melaina Rhoney is a woman who has dedicated her life to human services. Her vision to enhance access to services for those in need of mental health, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and substance abuse services founded the start of A Caring Alternative.

Virginia DeMoss has nearly 15 years experience in the behavioral health field. She earned her Masters in Social Work from Florida State University in 2008 and became a fully Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2012, after making a permanent move to Western North Carolina.

Teagan Brown is a native of Burke County. She completed her undergraduate work at Appalachian State University and received a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Montreat College.

Mr. Nirdé has had a long and distinguished career in behavioral health services
as both an administrator/manager and financial leader.
