Melaina Rhoney is a woman who has dedicated her life to human services. Her vision to enhance access to services for those in need of mental health, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and substance abuse services founded the start of A Caring Alternative.

Kristen White, LMFT, is the Chief Compliance Officer at A Caring Alternative, bringing nearly 20 years of experience as a mental health provider. With a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, she has served in various leadership roles since joining the organization in 2016, ensuring quality care and regulatory excellence.

Teagan Brown is a native of Burke County. She completed her undergraduate work at Appalachian State University and received a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Montreat College.

Todd Carswell, CPA, is the Chief Financial Officer of A Caring Alternative, bringing over 30 years of accounting experience and a strong background in financial management, strategic planning, and organizational growth.
